Description
The last supper can be found in the refectory of the convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan. It represent The Last Supper of Jesus with the Apostles. It actually took Leonardo about four years (1494-1498) to complete. Leonardo painted The Last Supper on a dry wall rather than on wet plaster, so it is not a true fresco. Because a fresco cannot be modified as the artist works, Leonardo instead chose to seal the stone wall with a layer of pitch, gesso & mastic, then paint onto the sealing layer with tempera.
Tapestry composition 80% cotton 20% viscose woven on a Jacquard loom by Master weavers.
