Suffragette Decoration

Suffragettes were members of women's organisations who campaigned for the right to vote in public elections. This right was won in 1918 for women over the age of 30 who met certain property qualifications and it 1928 this was extended to all women over the age of 21.

This wonderful hanging decoration is the perfect way to commemorate the historic movement in women's history. The purple suffragette is shown wearing a green sash campaigning for 'Votes for Women'.

The decoration is made by St. Nicolas, they specialise in bespoke Christmas decorations and fabric gifts. All the decorations are handmade, and the time taken to make each one is reflected in their unique quality. For 25 years they have worked with a small Christian charity in Thailand that helps disadvantaged rural women find work in their community, rather than being forced to leave home to work in a factory.
