Description
This elegant gold plated and enamel decoration has been inspired by the patonce cross, taken from the coat of arms assigned to St Edward the Confessor.
As well as being a stylish Christmas tree decoration, it would make a wonderful gift for a Christening or Confirmation.
The decoration comes presented in a satin lined gift box.
The patonce cross emblem can be seen at the western tower entrance to Westminster Abbey alongside the following inscription adapted from a grace said after meals, dating from the reign of Elizabeth I.
“MAY GOD GRANT TO THE LIVING GRACE
TO THE DEPARTED REST
TO THE CHURCH & THE WORLD
PEACE AND CONCORD
AND TO US SINNERS
ETERNAL LIFE”.
