Description
The St Edward's Crown is used to crown the new monarch by the Archbishop of Canterbury during the coronation ceremony. Westminster Abbey has been the coronation church since 1066 and has witnessed 39 coronations: the first being that of William the Conqueror, the most recent being that of King Charles III on 6th May 2023.
