Description
The window shows Christ surrounded by sixteen figures symbolising the Virtues and order of angels. In the outer circle thirty-two figures from Jewish and ancient tradition represent the preparation of the world for Christ.
This window, the largest of its type, is thirty-two feet across. Devised by G.F. Bodley and M.R. James it was painted by Burlison and Grylls and given as a memorial to Hugh Lupus Grosvenor, 1st Duke of Westminster 1825-1899. The window was dedicated on 26 September 1902.
Each roundlette is hand painted in the UK, by Winged Heart, and gives the appearance of stained glass. Finished with a hanging chain and window suction cup to allow for its display.
- 6.5cm in diameter
- Constant strong sunlight should be avoided to maintain optimum brightness
