This beautiful faux pearl necklace is a replica of the B initial pendant worn by Anne Boleyn which can be seen in many of her portraits.

The necklace has a toggle fastening and is presented on an information card with a picture of Anne Boleyn on the front and a brief history of Tudor jewellery on the reverse.

Gold, silver, copper, gilded metals, ivory, pearls and jet, together with precious and semi-precious stones, were used to make jewellery during the 16th century. Pearls were one of the most popular items of jewellery in the Tudor era and were worn by Anne Boleyn and her daughter Queen Elizabeth I. Pearls were worn in a string, as a single pearl or a combination of both. Queen Elizabeth I had single pearls sewn into her dresses.
