Westminster Abbey Quire Green Man

In stock
  • Designed and produced for Westminster Abbey, this Green Man has been reproduced from the one to the centre of the Abbey's Quire. The core of the Quire screen is 13th Century stonework but its present from was designed by Edward Blore in 1834. He extended the screen a little to the west so that the Newton and Stanhope monuments, which were originally set up against it, now appear to be enclosed within it. The colouring and gilding were carried out by Stephen Dykes Bowers in the 1960's. This replica miniature carving is made in England by History Craft, Cirencester, the original carvings having been made by Herefordshire stone masons, Martin and Oliver Webb.
