Westminster Abbey Cross Decoration

Exclusively made for Westminster Abbey this highly detailed and embellished cross decoration is inspired by the Coronation Cope on display in the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Galleries. The Coronation Cope was made for the coronation of Charles II in 1661.
This opulent cross decoration is the perfect purchase to mark any special occasions this year. The front of the cross is decorated with gold threads, interspersed with glass beads.
This decoration has been hand made in India by St Nicolas using the traditional rare and respected method of zardozi. Zardozi is a highly skilled embroidery technique that traditionally used gold wires and jewels to embellish courtly robes. For over 25 years St. Nicolas have worked with a small Christian charity in Thailand that helps disadvantaged rural women find work in their community, rather than being forced to leave home to work in a factory. Today, some 200 skilled women work at home sewing decorations, and many of them have been doing so for more than 10 years.
