Westminster Abbey Angels China Pillbox

This pillbox is part of our beautiful new range of fine bone china. The centre angels are censing angels from the South Transept of the Abbey in Poets' Corner which were sculpted circa 1255. Censing angels are special angels which take the messages and prayers of those on Earth up to God in the heavens. The other elements of the design are also influenced by the Abbey with the crown showing its status as a royal peculiar, the Tudor rose showing the influence of Henry VII’s Lady Chapel and the oak leaves as a symbol of strength and sovereignty. In the centre is the Abbey’s shield, combining St Edward’s patonce cross with the heraldic martlets. Finished in 22ct gold and gift boxed.
