One of our most popular Christmas themes this year has been vintage nostalgia which evokes a feeling of classic Christmases from days gone by. It makes the most of images and prints from the Victorian era and the early 20th century to bring to life an old fashioned feeling. For this Inside Story we have put together a selection of our favourite vintage decorations, food treats and wrapping accessories to help you put together your perfect vintage themed Christmas.

Vintage Themed Tree

Our favourite vintage Christmas decorations are the ones that are made from wood or metal as opposed to the plastic ones as they feel more traditional.  If you are planning a classic religious tree then we have a selection of angel decorations which have designs taken from vintage ephemera that have been applied to shaped metal decoration. They are finished with a rustic jute string to add to their traditional feel. If you are planning a Father Christmas themed tree then we have lots of decorations to choose from including a square wooden decoration decorated with a Santa themed stamp which has been finished with a flourish of glitter. To finish off any Christmas scene we would recommend a sprinkling of our acrylic snow to evoke the white Christmases of Dickensian London.

Vintage Themed Christmas Food

As the festive season is seen as a time to indulge it is the perfect time to treat yourself to something sweet. We think our individual sized Christmas puddings are very in keeping with the vintage theme as Christmas pudding is a great British tradition that goes back to Medieval times. If you are more of a chocolate person then we have a lovely tin of chocolate drops which are decorated with a vintage design. Once you have enjoyed the chocolate you can keep the tin and refill it for the Christmases to come.

Vintage Gift Tags

Our final way to create a vintage theme for Christmas is with our lovely sets of gift tags to add a lovely finishing touch to your gifts this year. We have a selection including wooden gift tags which can then be used by the recipient as a decoration on their Christmas tree.
