A Song for Our Christmas Windows
Following the success of last year’s Christmas advent window our team have worked hard to come up with another festive tradition to bring to life. The result of their hard work is our beautiful twelve days of Christmas display which spans the three main windows at the front of the shop. We have added our own twist to the classic Christmas carol by making the gifts some of our favourite products of this year.
Our new version of the song goes as follows:
On the First day of Christmas my true love gave to me an Advent Calendar…
Two Angel Plaques
Five Gold Crowns
Six Famous Faces
Seven China Teacups
Eight Jars of Jam
Nine Candle Holders
Ten Robins Roosting
Eleven Pairs of Cufflinks
Twelve Snow Globes
Apart from our lovely products providing the gifts that true love gave, we also have all the trimmings of a Victorian Christmas. We have large hanging wreaths and garlands framing our lovely gifts in the window alongside traditional vintage Father Christmases. The window has been sprinkled with snow evoking the white Christmases of Dickensian times; you may also spot some of Charles Dickens’ work in the window with the beautiful piles of antique books acting as pillars for the gifts. We felt the Victorian decorations were perfect as they carried on the beautiful theme started with our range of advent calendars and Christmas cards designed by Camilla Charnock, which show a Victorian scene outside of Westminster Abbey.
To see more of the lovely items that have been included in this year’s Christmas window be sure to follow our social media posts on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. We will be posting a different gift from our true love every day for the first twelve days of Christmas so you can see the different products which are inspiring each day’s lyrics.
